On B&BP we talk a lot about teaching your children about sexual health but what if your child is on the autism spectrum? This can bring many new questions to the table. Tara Pennington and I hope to shed some light on autism and sexuality. While we can't cover it all in an hour (or many hours at that) we wanted to start here.
I met with Tara Pennington who has been working with individuals who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for over 15 years. We're here to talk about autism and sexuality, a topic that can be hard to speak about for many parents. We're glad you're joining us.
Tara and I explore some of the issues that arise when we think of sexual health and Autism. Tara give some helpful tips on parenting a child on the spectrum with ways to interact and support your child. We explore sexual topics that usually create an uncomfortable feeling for parents and we explore resources for parents.

Have you been to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for a baby? Do you know someone who's there right now with their child or has been there with their baby? chances are it was a scary situation, unplanned, and difficult to understand what was happening. Devin and Cami found themselves in this situations on a couple of occasions.
Interestingly enough Devin is a therapist and Cami works for a hospital who provides services to the NICU. They are sharing their story with us today and the insights they feel other parents need to know if their baby needs to stay in the NICU.
Cami and Devin explore the emotional, mental, and physical stressors they experienced, what to expect in the NICU postpartum, methods they used to seek closure, and advice they would give to any parent going through this scary situation.
